STEVEN Schumacher is the odds-on favourite to take over at Plymouth Argyle following the departure of Wayne Rooney.
Former England striker Rooney was sent packing after a nine-game winless run left the Pilgrims bottom of the Championship.
Assistant Mike Phelan has also left Home Park with director of football Neil Dewsnip – the man responsible for appointing Rooney in May – also set to depart.
Schumacher was sacked by Stoke in September and is thought to be keen on a return to his former club. ...
