Goalkeeper 

Reice Charles-Cook (

Things went rather well for Reice Charles-Cook last week. On Thursday he signed a new contract with the and on Saturday he put in a sterling display to help Coventry to a 3-1 win at . The 21-year old made a number of important saves at the Colchester Community Stadium including tipping wide George Moncur’s tricky free kick.

Defenders 

Jason Pearce (Wigan) 

The 27-year old helped Wigan to an important clean sheet at Spotland on Saturday and also netted his third Wigan goal in the process. Pearce opened the scoring 16 minutes into the game when he rose unchallenged to head home a Reece Jacobs free-kick.

Jordan Turnbull (Swindon) 

Swindon recorded a vital win over Scunthorpe in Martin Ling’s first game in charge to move themselves out of the drop zone. The were greatly aided by Jordan Turnbull who successfully organized Swindon’s back line to weather Scunthorpe’s late push in search of an equalizer.

Ryan McGivern (Port Vale) 

The 25-year old Northern Ireland international helped Port Vale to an important 2-1 win over struggling at Oakwell. McGivern, who joined the Staffordshire club from Hibs in 2014, did well to contain the Barnsley strike force.and made a number of crucial interceptions towards the end of the game.

Bradley Garmston (Gillingham) 

Justin ‘s side moved to the top of the League One table with a 3-1 victory over Bury at Priestfield. Gills’ full-back Garmston caused the Bury defense several problems with a number of surging runs up the left flank and also helped to tame Bury’s wide players.

Midfielders 

Dominic Poleon (Oldham) 

David Dunn’s Oldham earned a credible 2-1 victory away at Chesterfield on Saturday. Dominic Poleon grabbed Oldham’s first goal when he reacted quickest to Chesterfield goalkeeper Tommy Lee’s fumble to tap the ball home for his fourth goal of the season.

Conor Grant (

Conor Grant assisted Donaster’s second goal as they eased to a 2-0 victory against Neil McDonald’s Blackpool at Bloomfield Road. Aaron Taylor-Sinclair finished coolly after getting on the end of the loanee’s corner to put Doncaster into an unassailable 2-0 lead five minutes before half time.

Emmanual Osadebe (Gillingham) 

Emmanual Osadebe capped off a fine afternoon for Gillingham when he netted their third goal of the afternoon three minutes from time. The 19 year old showed great footwork on the right hand side before cutting in and finishing into the bottom corner. Osadebe was rewarded for his performance by being called up to train with the Republic of Ireland Under 21 side this week.

Yanic Wildschut (Wigan) 

The former SC Heerenveen man looked a class apart at Spotland and was rightly awarded the man of the match award. Wildschut was the architect of Wigan’s second goal of the afternoon when he did well to square the ball for Micheal Jacob’s to thunder in off the bar. Manager Gary Caldwell was full of praise for the Middlesbrough loanee, telling reporters after the game, “He’s enjoying his football. I think we use him in the right manner, hes got a lot of talent”.

Strikers 

Jacob Murphy (Coventry) 

The 20-year old grabbed two first-half goals for Coventry at the weekend. For his first goal, Murphy fired home after Tom Eastman had blocked Marc-Antoine Fortune’s low cross and just seven minutes later the man on loan from Norwich pounced again when he reacted quickest to Frankie Kent’s slip before hitting the ball home.

Billy Clarke (Bradford) 

Billy Clarke scored Bradford’s second in the Bantam’s 2-0 win over bottom of the table Crewe at Valley Parade on Saturday. The former Ipswich man gave Crewe defender Jon Guthrie a torrid time before calmly slotting home with half an hour left to play.

Manager of the Week 

Justin Edinburgh (Gillingham) 

Edinburgh joined the Gills from in February and has so far masterminded the club’s push to the summit of League One. This success has led to the 45-year old being linked to managerial positions at a number of Championship clubs.
