Maynard joins MK Dons

By Hugo Varley

Nicky Maynard has joined Milton Keynes Dons on a deal until the end of next season. The striker had been a free agent following his release by Cardiff in the summer.

Dons boss Karl Robinson expressed his delight at the deal, telling the club’s official website “I’m really pleased we have got him and I think the fans will be pleased that we can get players of his quality through the door – it shows again, as a Football Club, what we can achieve.”

MK Dons have had a testing time since gaining promotion to the Championship last season and currently sit in 20th place. Dons fans will no doubt be hoping Maynard can provide the goals to push the club up the league table.

Nicky Maynard will wear the number 28 shirt this season.
