NINE Championship sides were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by lower league opposition in one night – with , Stevenage, Bradford and County flying the flag for League Two.

Danny Rose struck an 89th-minute winer for Steve Evans' Stevenage as they beat Reading 2-1, while Newport County twice came from behind to knock Luton Town out 3-2 thanks to James Waite's 76th-minute strike.

Cardiff City were soundly beaten 3-0 at home by League One Portsmouth, Joe Pigott opened the scoring for Pompey before goals from Ronan Curtis and Colby Bishop wrapped up the win.

Another team enjoying away success to higher-rank opposition were Colchester United, who stunned League One neighbours Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
