I’VE seen plenty of touchline bust-ups in my time, but the scenes at the end of Barnsley’s 2-2 draw with Stoke in midweek were something else.
Coaches Dean Holden and Rory Delap were both sent off for Stoke, whilst Barnsley boss Markus Schopp lost his assistant Joe Laumann. In the aftermath, Stoke manager Michael O’Neill claimed a punch was thrown.
Nobody should be doing that. I was a pretty ruthless player, but nobody wants to see violence in the game.
