Why can’t we clean up the window?

The Football League Paper says...

THE season’s kicked off, the goals are flying in, the fans are back and everything seems to be fine. But, hang on a second, the transfer window is still open for more than two weeks, until Tuesday, August 31, in fact.
Go back a few years and it appeared this issue had been resolved. After managers complained that leaving the window open once the season had already started caused disruption to their squads and preparations, the Premier League decided to halt transfers before the season started and the EFL followed suit.
