HOLDEN IS SALUTED

BOLTON are mourning winger Doug Holden, the last surviving player of the Stanley Matthews FA Cup final in 1953.The England man, who died at the age of 90, was part of the Bolton side that was defeated 4-3 by Blackpool. He won the Cup with Bolton in 1958.“The thoughts and prayers of everybody at Bolton are with Doug’s family and friends during this sad time,” said the club.
