CRITCHLEY SHOCK AT ELL’S LOAN

BLACKPOOL boss Neil Critchley admits he was “slightly surprised” Sunderland were willing to let Elliot Embleton join a potential League One promotion rival.
The 21-year-old midfielder moved to the play-off chasing Seasiders on loan from the Black Cats on transfer deadline day.
Critchley said: “I was slightly surprised, but I don’t know about their squad and their numbers, that’s not my decision.
“But I’m thankful Sunderland have entrusted us to look after Elliot and develop him.”
