IT MAY not have ended with three points, but Sunderland manager Jack Ross hailed the effort of his players after they moved second with a 1-1 draw against Burton.
The injury-hit Black Cats fell behind to a Tom Flanagan own goal on 19 minutes, but were back on terms just eight minutes later at the Stadium of Light. Defender Jack Baldwin headed in a Grant Leadbitter corner.
Both teams had chances to win it, but it ended honours even – with Sunderland moving a point ahead of Bar nsley to nab second place. The Black Cats also have a game in hand on the Tykes. Manager Ross said:...
