Barrow say they sacked Andy Whing because performances failed to justify the owners’ investment.
The League Two side signed 16 new players in the summer, including ex-Preston North End forward Tom Barkhuizen and former Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker.
But they won just five league games this season under Whing, with Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat at home to Tranmere Rovers extending the Bluebirds’ winless run to six matches and leaving them just four points above the relegation zone.
