Shaun Rooney staing longer at Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood Town have expressed their delight at keeping hold of defender Shaun Rooney.
The 28-year-old centre-back joined the Cod Army for a second spell in January and has now signed a new two-year deal at Highbury.
The Scot had the distinction of scoring St Johnstone’s winner in both their League Cup and Scottish Cup final triumphs in 2021.
He then spent a couple of years with Fleetwood, making 80 appearances, before joining St Mirren last summer.
Heading into the weekend, he had made 17 appearances for the League Two side this term, scoring twice.
