CARLISLE boss Mike Williamson has hailed the impact made by new sporting director Rob Clarkson.
A veteran of various recruitment roles at Manchester City and Rangers, Clarkson was appointed a month ago and his arrival marks the first time the Cumbrians have ever operated using a director of football model.
The 37-year-old will now oversee what is expected to be a busy transfer window for the League Two strugglers and Williamson says he has been impressed so far.
