Troy Deeney says he is excited to start a “new journey” after joining League Two Forest Green as player-coach.
Watford legend Deeney has scored 213 goals in 688 appearances, and hit double figures in three of his five Premier League seasons with the Hornets.
He joined hometown club Birmingham in 2021, but was released in May after netting 11 goals in 56 Championship matches.

Now 35, Deeney received offers to remain in the second tier but chose to join up with Rovers boss David Horseman, who was previously at Watford as an Under-18 and Under-23 coach.
