Since then, he has been part of the Valiants’ giant-killing FA Cup run, which culminated in yesterday’s trip to FIFA Club World Cup winners Chelsea.
The 27-year-old started in the 1-0 win against Bristol City in the fourth round and then came on at half-time as Jon Brady’s men stunned top-flight Sunderland in round five.
