Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to be handed his first permanent manager’s role in the EFL by Luton Town.

The 33-year-old has held talks with the Hatters, who axed boss Matt Bloomfield on Monday, and is tipped to take charge of the League One club. Luton have suffered back-to-back relegations to the third tier and are currently mid-table.
The arrival of ex-England man Wilshere would give the Hatters a much-needed boost.
His last role was as interim coach at Norwich at the end of last season where he took over for the final two games following Johannes Hoff Thorup’s sacking.
