Rochdale have completed the signing of highly-rated Barrow midfielder Jordan Williams.
The 24-year-old arrives from the National League club for an undisclosed fee, and has signed a two-year deal with Keith Hill's side.
Williams becomes Dale's second signing of the summer after the arrival of defender Reece Brown, and Hill is clearly delighted with the arrival of his latest recruit, who had been interesting a host of EFL clubs.
Speaking to the club's official website, the manager said: “He's a great acquisition by the football club. He's someone we've been pursuing since the end of the season and it's just great to get the deal done.
“He will be a great privilege to work with, he's very honest, grounded, determined and hungry.
“He has great ability, his assists and goal scoring for Barrow this season has been superb, and he was our number one target to recruit in those wide areas of the pitch where we've lost Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.”
Williams has risen through the ranks at Non-League level, learning his trade at Burscough before sealing a move to Northwich Victoria.
While at Northwich, Williams impressed Barrow boss Paul Cox, and he joined the Bluebirds in January 2016 before going on to catch the eye with an impressive 12 goals last season – form that was also rewarded with an England C cap.
