Joe Rafferty’s early strike was enough to see off Plymouth, as the hosts ended a torrid run of four straight defeats.
Locked in a fight for survival at the foot of League One, Hamshaw hopes the victory can now serve as a launchpad as they look to rise out of the bottom four.
