Tendayi Darikwa struck twice for Lincoln City

Four League One matches fell foul of the weather, but eight survived – with Lincoln City’s emphatic win over Peterborough United the standout as they held onto their top-two spot.

The Imps put five past Posh to preserve their two-point lead over Bradford City, after the Bantams defeated Blackpool.

Lincoln still trails Cardiff City by three points, however, after the Bluebirds edged past Wigan Athletic.

Here is the full round-up of Sunday’s League One action.

Lincoln City 5-2 Peterborough United

Promotion-chasing Lincoln came from behind to thrash Peterborough 5-2 after scoring three times during a 15-minute first-half blitz.

The visitors started confidently, however, and went ahead when Kyrell Lisbie picked out Harvey Leonard before City levelled when Reeco Hackett slotted home from Tendayi Darikwa’s pass.

Freddie Draper put Lincoln in front on the stroke of half-time after Carl Johnston failed to clear his lines.

They doubled that advantage two minutes later when Darikwa drilled home from the edge of the box.

Lisbie chested home Brandon Khela’s cross at the back post to pull one pack for Posh, but Lincoln restored their two-goal advantage less than a minute later when Adam Reach turned home Hackett’s low cross.

Darikwa bagged his brace in stoppage-time after the visitors were caught on the break following a corner as Lincoln made it eight games unbeaten.

Blackpool 1-2 Bradford City

Bradford bounced back from defeat on New Year’s Day with a 2-1 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

The Bantams put their 3-0 defeat to Mansfield to the back of their minds.

Blackpool, who were thrashed 5-1 by Port Vale in their opening outing of 2026, head into a break from League One action sitting just two points above the relegation zone.

Following a quiet start, City’s Aden Baldwin made the most of a loose ball in the box as he fired home from close range for the opener.

The Seasiders pulled themselves level as Ashley Fletcher finished calmly following an impressive ball over the top from Andy Lyons.

However, Graham Alexander’s side edged their way back in front, with Will Swan capitalising on a mistake at the back before slotting past Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Cardiff City 1-0 Wigan Athletic

A captain’s goal from Calum Chambers helped Cardiff secure a 1-0 win over Wigan at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Chambers led by example with a strike from outside the box, which evaded Latics goalkeeper Sam Tickle and flew into the top corner.

The hosts failed to find a second goal but extended their home winning run to eight league games.

Wigan struggled to gain any momentum throughout in a frustrating display and they remain in 14th place in a tightly-contested midfield and are above the relegation zone by three points.

Huddersfield Town 2-2 Exeter City

Substitute Jayden Wareham scored a late equaliser to earn Exeter City a 2-2 draw away to in-form Huddersfield Town.

Marcus Harness fired the hosts in front after 18 minutes with a well-taken finish from just outside the area to score his first league goal for the club.

Huddersfield’s lead didn’t last long, though, as Reece Cole smashed an unstoppable strike into the top corner after turning into space 20 yards from goal.

Bojan Radulovic restored the Terriers’ advantage, tapping home from point-blank range at the back post to finish off Cameron Ashia’s ball across the face of goal.

However, the Grecians got their leveller as Wareham flicked Ilmari Niskanen’s cross from the right wing into the bottom corner to earn his side a deserved point.

Plymouth Argyle 3-0 Burton Albion

Plymouth Argyle’s 15-goal top-scorer Lorent Tolaj helped his side beat fellow League One strugglers Burton Albion at Home Park.

Brewers goalkeeper Bradley Collins had no answer when Brendan Galloway first-time volleyed Joe Ralls’ corner from the left in at the near post for the opener.

As usual, Tolaj was involved in all that was good about Argyle’s attacks as he stretched to pass to substitute Mathias Ross, who hammered home from close range when Albion failed to deal with Ralls’ cross into the six-yard box.

Kyran Lofthouse then fouled Galloway for the spot-kick, which Tolaj rifled in to rubber-stamp the outcome.

Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 AFC Wimbledon

Wycombe Wanderers secured their first victory in four games with a 2-0 triumph over AFC Wimbledon at Adams Park.

Wanderers did not have to wait too long for the opener. Fred Onyedinma did brilliantly on the left, beating three players to reach the touchline before his drag-back found Junior Quitirna, who swept home his third of the season.

The home victory was then wrapped up when substitute Niall Huggins scored his first Wycombe goal.

The on-loan Sunderland man latched onto a superb pass by Jamie Mullins and placed it beyond Nathan Bishop from close range.

Reading 1-0 Stockport County

A dramatic 89th-minute goal from midfielder Lewis Wing gave in-form Reading a 1-0 victory over play-off chasers Stockport County.

County goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe could do nothing when his defence failed to clear and Wing hammered into the roof of the net for his ninth goal of the season.

Victory extended the Royals’ unbeaten run to five matches.

Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Northampton Town

Kevin Nolan returned to his former club Bolton Wanderers to mastermind Northampton Town’s second successive goalless draw.

Wanderers remain in the play-off places but have collected only two points from their last three outings.

Bolton boss Steven Schumacher made seven changes from the side that drew 1-1 at Doncaster Rovers on New Year’s Day in a bid to find a winning formula.

Yet for all their efforts, the Cobblers frustrated their hosts to leave Northampton two points above the relegation zone.
