MANSFIELD striker Lee Gregory says his heart is aching after announcing his retirement at the age of 37.
The Sheffield-born forward scored 222 goals in 588 career appearances for the likes of Millwall, Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday.
“Retiring from the game was something I never wanted to think about, but the time has finally come,” he told the Stags website.
“After every kick, every laugh, every heartbreak, I’ve come to terms with it and am retiring from professional football.
