The Alzheimer’s Society have thanked former Premier League footballer Dean Windass for going public with his dementia diagnosis.
The former Hull, Bradford and Middlesbrough striker has got stage two dementia.
The 55-year-old made more than 700 appearances for a dozen clubs during his two-decade long career, scoring more than 230 goals.
Writing about his diagnosis on X, Windass said he was “OK” and joked: “I was delighted to find out I had a brain.”
