GOOD TIMES: Nick Anderton in action for Bristol Rovers BRISTOL Rovers defender Nick Anderton has been forced to retire at the age of 26 following an operation to remove a cancerous tumour. Anderton was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, last July after he underwent a routine scan on what he thought was a leg injury. The subsequent surgery resulted in a complete knee replacement and the removal of 12cm of his femur.
