DANNY Cowley said the reception he received on his return to Lincoln “will stay with me forever”.
The 43-year-old, now Portsmouth boss, gained legendary status at the Imps, winning the National League and League Two titles as well as the EFL Trophy, while also reaching the FA Cup quarter-final.
Pompey eased to a 3-0 victory, and Cowley said: “That was about as emotional as I have felt.
“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the reception from the City fans, that will stay with me forever.”
