HOPES of a brighter future at crisis-hit Macclesfield Town are hanging in the balance after reports that a potential takeover has stalled.
According to BBC Radio Manchester, a prospective takeover by local businessman Joe Sealey, son of former Manchester United goalkeeper Les, is in doubt due to a dispute over the provision of proof of funds between him and Silkmen owner Amar Alkadhi.
The cash-strappged club had a winding-up petition over a £180,000 unpaid tax debt adjourned on Wednesday for a seventh time.
