Relief for Hodges as Wombles hold on

AFC WIMBLEDON assistant-boss Glyn Hodges piled praise on his players as he led them to a first League One win of the season.
Taking charge in the dugout after Wally Downes was suspended from his role as manager for betting breaches, Hodges watched on as the Dons made life hard for themselves, going 3-0 up prior to half-time, before the visitors came out and turned up the heat.
But in spite of Ian Henderson’s 95thminute second goal, the hosts held on for a win that takes them to within four points of Rochdale and safety.
