Outgoing Preston chairman Craig Hemmings says he fears for the future of the game unless a “financial reset” is imposed by the new football regulator.
Hemmings, who succeeded his late father Trevor in 2019, announced this week that he is stepping down as chairman but will remain as owner.
Ian Penrose has now taken over as non-executive chairman, but the broader strategy is to attract new investment or even seek a sale of the Championship club, which Hemmings says can no longer afford to compete.
