Paul Heckingbottom admitted the 2-1 loss to Coventry City was likely the result of a tough run of games for his Preston North End side.
The Lilywhites have played five matches in February and have a looming FA Cup tie against Burnley next weekend.
“There were too many players not at the level we’ve been playing at, which made it difficult,” admitted Heckingbottom.
