BURNLEY head coach Scott Parker defended his goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky after the Czech’s comical error gifted Reading an equaliser in a tie which the Clarets eventually won after extra-time.
Lyle Foster had given Burnley the lead, but Lewis Wing levelled when Hladky allowed the 30-yard shot to squirm through his arms and legs.
The visitors won with two goals from substitute Zian Flemming in the additional period.
