Battling Blackburn Rovers forward Andi Weimann is forced to take a break

BLACKBURN Rovers striker Andi Weimann has admitted defeat in his attempts to play through the pain barrier.
The former Bristol City, Derby and Aston Villa striker has been carrying a knee injury for the past month.
Back-to-back starts in recent games against Stoke and Cardiff had raised hopes that the problem was easing, and Weimann’s brace in a 3-1 win against the Bluebirds suggested the 33-year-old Austrian was back to his best.
But he was not on the team-sheet for Wednesday’s 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough and manager John Eustace revealed afterwards...
