captain Harlee Dean has admitted that he feels embarrassed after play-acting in the club's 2-0 win away at .

The 25-year-old centre-back, who starred in the ' impressive win at The Amex, feigned injury when Brighton's Tomer Hemed collided with him on the halfway line.

The innocuous incident resulted in Hemed being booked, but Dean doesn't know why he went down so easily and was regretful after the game.

He said: “It's modern-day . I had an incident in the first half with Hemed when I went down. It was embarrassing for me, falling on the floor as a six foot three centre half.

“That is the way the game is played now and I'm disappointed in myself but it's something that's got to go out of the game. I don't know why I did it.

“You're playing the game. It's six of one, half a dozen of the other. It's part of football. You've got to win in any way you can.”

Towards the end of the game, Dean was involved in another talking point after a coming together with substitute Elvis Manu in the penalty area, which resulted in Manu being booked for simulation.

It was a close-call but Dean believed the referee made the right decision, saying: “I think it could have gone either way. He made it a bit theatrical. There wasn't contact in the feet but I put an arm into his chest.

“He could have stayed up and if he could get the ball he would have so he's tried to con the ref and I think he made the right decision.”

Despite Dean's embarrassment, he played an integral role in an impressive Brentford win. If you want to bet on the Bees carrying on their impressive recent form, find out more here about how Colossus Bets could be the place to do it.
