Welsh international Jazz Richards has moved from Fulham to Cardiff City, in a swap deal that see's Scott Malone make the move to Craven Cottage.
Full back Richards brings experience in both the Premier League and Europa League to the Welsh Capital and returns to the club he left for bitter rivals Swansea as a 16-year old.
City Head-Coach Paul Trollope and Richards worked together during Wales European Championship campaign and Trollope was keen to bring another Welsh player into the squad.
Trollope said “I think he'll fit nicely with how we're going to try and work, the philosophy, and the style we're going to play with.”
“Obviously I know him well from the Welsh set-up, and introducing another Welsh element was a big factor.”
Meanwhile fellow full back Malone makes the move to Fulham having spent two and a half years at Cardiff and has been handed a two year deal by Slavisa Jokanovic, who he said was a key part in convincing him Fulham was the right place.
“I've heard good things about the manager (Slavisa Jokanovic) which was the main factor,” explained Malone
“The way he works and how he can improve me as a player, and from speaking to him he had the drive to get promoted.”
Malone has spent the past four seasons plying his trade in the Championship and knows just how difficult it can be, calling it both physically and mentally tough.
The pair won't have to wait long to return to their old clubs with Fulham hosting Cardiff just two weeks into the season, on August 20th.
