Championship Player of the Month nominees

Mirco Antenucci, Lee Frecklington, Tom Lees and Sam Vokes have been nominated for the March Player of the Month award.

Mirco Antenucci, (Leeds)

The Italian striker had a brilliant March by ending his scoring drought to net four goals in as many games.

His goals included an impressive brace against the league’s bottom club Bolton Wanders as well as important strikes against Cardiff and Blackburn.

Lee Frecklington (Rotherham)

Frecklington played an important role in Rotherham’s surge away from the Championship drop zone last month.

The 30-year-old battled through a calf strain to play every game in March and was on hand to score a vital winner against Middlesbrough at the New York Stadium.

Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday)

Lees put in a number of sterling performances in Wednesday’s back line last month to help the side only concede one goal in their four league games.

The defender also played a role at the other end of the pitch when he grabbed his third goal of the season against Charlton on 19th March.

Sam Vokes (Burnley)

Vokes was in sublime goal scoring form last month as Burnley collected 10 points out of a possible 12.

The Welsh striker weighed in with four goals including a brilliant header against his former club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
