Sky Blues bolster attack with double loan move
While their promotion push has stuttered slightly in recent weeks, Frank Lampard’s side have moved quickly to bolster their attacking options this week with two quality forward additions.
First through the door, Yang has arrived at the CBS Arena following a loan spell with relegation-battling Portsmouth during the first half of the campaign.
The South Korea international scored a dramatic late winner against Charlton Athletic before the New Year, taking his total goal contributions for Pompey this season to four in 16 appearances.
Tottenham subsequently recalled the youngster before sanctioning his move to Coventry, where he is joined by Esse, who has found Premier League opportunities limited at Crystal Palace since arriving from Millwall this time last year.

Saints turn to Israel international between the posts
Southampton completed the signing of Daniel Peretz today from Bayern on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old shotstopper started his senior career with Maccabi Tel Aviv before moving to the German giants in 2023.
He joined Hamburger SV at the start of this season, but that loan spell was cut short, as he now makes the switch to England with the Saints.
Tigers swoop in for ex-Whites defender
Hull City completed the free signing of James Debayo at the weekend following his departure from Leeds United in the summer.
The Tigers have already seen the benefits of recruiting players from Elland Road this season through Joe Gelhardt’s loan move and have now gone ahead and snapped up his former team-mate.
Debayo made a solitary senior appearance for Leeds during the previous campaign, having joined the club from Watford as a scholar earlier in his development.
The 20-year-old centre-back will now form a part of Sergej Jakirovic’s plans as Hull look to build momentum in the push for a play-off place.

Assist machine Wagner joins the Blues
Earlier this window, Kai Wagner signed for Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee from MLS side Philadelphia Union.
The 28-year-old has an impressive track record of setting up his team-mates, with a tally of 63 assists across seven years with the American outfit.
Wagner now links up with Chris Davies’ side in the Championship, already making his debut and teeing up striker Marvin Ducksch for the opening goal in Birmingham’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Coventry last weekend.
Change of scenery for Donley with U’s switch
The first half of the season has not been a successful one for Jamie Donley, who was recalled by Tottenham from his loan spell at Stoke City before joining fellow Championship side Oxford United.
The Northern Ireland international made just six appearances and registered a single assist, a stark contrast to last season, when he recorded 18 goal contributions in 42 League One outings for Leyton Orient.
In response, Spurs have moved the youngster to Oxford in the hope he can rediscover that form and make his mark at Championship level.
