Former Liverpool, Everton and Scotland midfielder Don Hutchison thinks Frank Lampard’s Coventry City would stay in the Premier League if they were promoted tomorrow.
The former player believes that Coventry might not be better than high-flyers Sunderland but they are definitely better than Burnley.
He also credits Leeds United for their performances so far and their talented individuals who are aiding their survival chances.

Standout
The step up from the Championship to the Premier League is a daunting prospect for many teams and has seen the last six teams that have gained promotion all come straight back down.
In a exclusive interview with oddsboom, Hutchison believes that Coventry would prove a strong contender to stay up in this current Premier League campaign.
“They’re not better than Sunderland – the standout team – they wouldn’t finish above Sunderland. I think they’re a better side than Burnley, though”
“I do look at Leeds, and I think individually they’ve got some fantastic players now. Daniel Farke has bought really well.
“They’ve got a good nucleus of players. Okafor is a good player.
“Calvert Lewin, if they keep him fit is a good player. Gnonto too, and Tanaka in midfield.”

Acid test
The 54-year-old would further add compliments to Sunderland’s efforts before expressing his desire to see Frank Lampard’s side in the Premier League.
“I think they’re (Leeds) a better side than Burnley but Sunderland are the best side by far.
“You know what, what Regis Le Bris has done, galvanising a team with countless summer signings, it’s just an incredible job.
“But I hope Frank Lampard and Coventry do come up because then that’s the acid test isn’t it? It’s like Burnley last year.
“They were keeping clean sheets for fun. Now, against the Haalands of this world in the Premier League, it’s a completely different challenge.”
