Sunderland interim boss Mike Dodds has admitted that inspirational winger Jack Clarke is irreplaceable.
Clarke, 23, will be out for at least six weeks after injuring ankle ligaments during the 2-1 defeat at Birmingham two weeks ago.
The former Tottenham and Leeds man is Sunderland’s top scorer this season with 15 Championship goals and has provided a further four assists.
“In terms of direct replacements for Jack, let’s not beat around the bush,” said Dodds, who was placed in charge until the end of season following the dismissal of Michael Beale.
