Match Preview: Preston North End v Hull City (Saturday, 3pm)

face City on Saturday seeking to protect their long unbeaten run in the .

The Lilywhites are unbeaten in six, with four wins and two draws, ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

They face a Hull team who have won four and drawn one over the same number of games.

In the last 10 years, and Hull have played each other on 14 occasions. They won five each, and they drew four times.

On average, the Lilywhites scored 0.9 goals and the Tigers 1.4 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on October 28, when Hull won 1-0 at home.

With 50 goals in 34 games so far this season, Hull are scoring more than average in the league with 1.5 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 43 goals at a rate of 1.3 per game.

Preston, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.4 goals per game. They have conceded 1.5 goals per game.

City are sixth in the table after 34 games, of which they have won 16 and drawn seven, earning 55 points.

North End are two places behind the Tigers in eighth, with 15 wins and seven draws putting them on 52 points.

In Will Keane, the Lilywhites have one of the league’s sharpest shooters so far this season. He has notched 12 goals in 26 appearances, to sit sixth in the scoring charts.

The away team’s top scorers, with eight goals each, are Aaron Anthony Connolly and Jaden Philogene.

Preston’s last match was on February 23, a 3-0 win against City, with Bobby Thomas (own goal), Emil Ris Jakobsen and Keane getting the goals for the Lilywhites.

Hull drew 1-1 with last time out, on February 24, with Fabio Carvalho on the scoresheet.

Saturday’s match will be refereed by Thomas Bramall, who has taken charge of eight Championship games so far this season, issuing no red cards and booking 32 players. He has awarded one penalty.

The last Preston game Bramall refereed was a 2-1 away win against Rovers on November 10. His last Hull match was their 3-1 win away at Stoke City on September 24.
