Shilen’s chuffed to take over the Baggies

American businessman Shilen Patel says he is ‘thrilled and grateful’ to have the opportunity to take over West Brom.
Patel is set to become chairman after a deal to purchase an 87.8 per cent stake in the Baggies was agreed.

The takeover by Bilkul Football WBA, owned by Florida-based Patel and his father Kiran Patel, has been approved by the EFL.

In a statement on Thursday, he said: “I am thrilled and grateful to have reached an agreement to become the custodian of West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
