Ayling’s arrival boosts Carrick

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick believes they have pulled off a coup in signing experienced defender Luke Ayling on loan until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old right-back joins from divisional rivals Leeds, where he made just over 250 league appearances in eight years.

Ayling helped the Whites win promotion to the Premier League in 2019-20 and has also played for Yeovil and Bristol City.

He has struggled for game-time of late and is out of contract this summer. Carabao Cup semi-finalists Boro were in need of reinforcements after suffering a glut of injuries....
