Championship hotshot Sammie Szmodics has signed a new long-term deal with Blackburn Rovers.
The 28-year-old, a £1.8m signing from Peterborough last year, had netted 13 times this season pre-weekend and currently leads the race for the golden boot.
“It was an easy choice for me,” said Szmodics, who made his name at home-town club Colchester before joining Bristol City in 2019.
“I’m playing the best football I’ve ever played and I’m really enjoying my time up north with my family.
