Football League Deadline Day blog

As expected deadline day has been more frantic than most clubs probably care for, with even the Yeovil Town secretary sending her fax machine out the second floor window. Here is a round-up of today’s transfers.

17:30 – Mansfield Town have moved to fill the void by Nicky Hunt by bringing in Swansea defender Daniel Alfei on loan until the end of the season.

17:30 – Chesterfield have signed Gary Liddle from Bradford City for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old is seen as a replacement for Sam Morsy who signed for divisional rivals Wigan last week.

17:30 – Huddersfield have signed Brighton midfielder Elvis Manu on a 93-day loan. The 22-year-old is Netherlands U21 cap signed by the Seagulls from Feyenoord last summer.

17:00 – QPR have made the swoop for Dutch forward Nasser El-Khayati from boss JF Hasselbaink’s old club Burton Albion. The 26-year-old joins the R’s for a fee in the region of £350,000.

16:40 – In search of goals Stevenage have signed striker Pat Hoban on a one-month loan from fellow League Two side Oxford United. The 24-year-old has scored five goals in 33 appearances this term.

16:13 – Connor Dimaio [Sheffield United – Chesterfield] Free

15:44 – Michael Appleton has added to his wide options with the addition of midfielder Zeli Ismail on loan for one month from Championship club Wolves.

15:31 – Stevenage have continued their active trait in this transfer window by signing Forest Green Rovers’ striker Aaron O’Connor for an undisclosed fee.

15:30 – Midfielder Louis Thompson is back at Swindon Town for a second spell after the Robins agreed a loan deal with Norwich City that will last for the duration of the season.

15:00 – AFC Wimbledon have signed Derby County goalkeeper Kelle Roos on loan for the rest of the season. Dutchman Roos has barely got a look in for the Rams first-team since signing from Nuneaton two years ago.

14:31 – Leyton Orient continue to spend cash in the hopes of cementing their play-off credentials, adding full-back Nicky Hunt to the squad for an undisclosed fee.

14:25 – Chris Maguire re-signs for Oxford United following his release by Rotherham. Maguire was part of the side that dumped Premier League Swansea out of the FA Cup in a 3-2 thriller and moves permanently to the Kassam on a six-month deal.

1:30 – Peterborough completed the signing of Tom Nichols from Exeter for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old has scored 34 goals in 113 appearances for Exeter.

1:30 – Rohan Ince moved to Fulham on loan from Brighton. Ince has only made one Championship start for the Seagulls this season.

1:00 – Sheffield Wednesday brought in Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady on loan from Everton until the end of the season. The 29-year-old has made 43 appearances for the Everton since joining from Spartak Moscow in 2014.

12:00 – Bristol City completed the permanent signing of Richard O’Donnell from Wigan. The goalkeeper had been on loan with the Robins since January.

12:00 – Cardiff made their second signing of the day by bringing in Tom Lawrence on loan from Leicester. The 22-year-old midfielder recently spent time on with Blackburn Rovers.

11:35 – Chris Neal joined Doncaster Rovers on a 28 day loan. The Port Vale shot-stopper has played just once this season following the arrival of Jack Alnwick.

11:30 – League Two side Hartlepool signed  Luke James on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. The striker scored 22 goals in 99 games for Pool before leaving at the start of last season.

10:00 – Cardiff moved to bring in Kenneth Zohore on loan from Belgian club KV Kortrijk. The Denmark Under 21 international scored nine goals in 21 appearances for OB in the Norwegian Premier League before joining KV Kortrijk and being immediately loaned to the Bluebirds.
