Blackburn bring in Danny Graham on loan

Blackburn Rovers have completed the loan signing of striker Danny Graham from Sunderland until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old is Blackburn’s third signing of the January transfer window after the arrival Simeon Jackson and Elliott Bennett.

Graham joined Sunderland from Swansea for a reported fee of around £5m in 2013, but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Stadium of Light and has had loan spells with Hull City and Middlesbrough.

The striker told reporters: “It’s been a mad 24 hours, I was training with Sunderland yesterday morning and then I came down here last night to get things sorted, so I’m delighted to get it done, I’m looking forward to the first game against Charlton and hopefully we can get off to a flying start.

“I was aware of the interest in the background and obviously I’ve been playing a bit at Sunderland the last few weeks, so I’m coming here with games under my belt, which is also pleasing, so hopefully we can both do well for each other.

Graham is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to Charlton Athletic.

Blackburn are currently sitting in 18th place in the Championship following Saturday’s home defeat to Brighton.
