ELLIOT Embleton could be out of action for up to eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 20-year-old Sunderland midfielder sustained the problem towards the end of the first half of the Carabao Cup win at Sheffield United last month.
Boss Jack Ross said: “It’s not as bad as the one he suffered at the end of last season. But because it’s the same hamstring, we’re just getting another opinion on it.
“It still won’t be a two-to-three-week one, it will be longer. It might be six-to-eight weeks.”
