CHRIS Maxwell is determined to keep hold of the gloves at Preston after appearing to edge ahead in his battle with Declan Rudd for the No.1 spot.
Wales international Maxwell, 28, had been limited to cup appearances, with 27-year-old Rudd the man between the sticks in the Championship.
But a run of patchy form from the former Norwich keeper resulted in Maxwell being selected for the league trip to Sheffield United and he appeared again versus Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup.
