GRAINGER FEAR OVER ZOLA EXIT

FORMER Birmingham defender Martin Grainger believes the Blues will be fortunate if they stay up this season, saying they should have acted far sooner in removing manager Gianfranco Zola.
The Italian resigned following a 2-0 Easter Monday defeat against Burton, bringing to an end a disastrous reign.
“I thought he should have gone five or six games prior to the Burton game,” said Grainger. “They probably appointed him on the basis of what he did as a player, rather than for his man-management.”
