13 year old boy arrested in connection of assault on Watford fan

Victim of assault remains in critical condition in hospital with severe head injuries

West Midlands Police have arrested a 13 year-old teenager on suspicion of connection to the assault of  Watford FC fan Nick Cruwys, who remains in critical condition in hospital five days after the Hornets traveled to Molineux.

The arrest was made at the boys address at 5am this (Thursday) morning and comes 12 hours after an 18 year-old was put in cuffs on suspicion of assault for the same incident, but has since been released on bail.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information, while a fund launched by a Wolves fan for father-of-two Cruwys has raised £23,000.

The attack occurred less than 200m away from Molineux after Saturday’s frantic 2-2 draw, where Cruwys was walking back to Wolverhampton Rail Station with friends before being ambushed by a group and kicked at after being knocked to the ground.
