Notts County manager Neal Ardley has placed an emphasis on experience being the focus of his recruitment drive to help the Magpies move clear of the League Two relegation zone.
The EFL basement boys lie three points clear of safety and Ardley said the squad could do with ‘a few’ additions as he awaits the return of some key players from injury.
“In some positions, we need a bit more experience and in others, we need a bit more athleticism,” Ardley told the Nottingham Post.
“There’s loads we need. We can do with players coming back from injuries such as Elliott Hewitt, Kane Hemmings, Lewis Alessandra and Enzio Boldewijn who would all make the team stronger.
“But at the moment we are scratching around and it’s tough. We need a few in and I don’t know what we can and can’t do.
“We’ve not got fortunes to throw at it.
“We are just profiling the qualities we need in order to play the way we want to play.”
After a trip to face play-off chasers Colchester United on Saturday, the Magpies take on relegation rivals Cambridge United and Yeovil Town.
