Roberto Firmino’s best season in England

Roberto Firmino is one of the main stars of “” during the period when Jürgen Klopp led the club. By the way, the current premier league tables, which provide data on the Reds’ matches, are available on the sports statistics website.

As for Firmino, he has never been a very productive forward. However, one season stands out in his career. We’re talking about the 2017/2018 campaign. There the forward scored 15 goals in the English . Even though it is not so much, it should not be forgotten that Roberto showed himself perfectly in other competitions as well. So, he scored 11 goals in the Champions League and distinguished himself once more in the English Cup. Thus, during the entire 2017/2018 season he had 27 accurate strikes.

Despite Firmino’s great form, “Liverpool” did not win anything that year. Although it was during the 2017/2018 campaign that the club finally turned into a top team that is fighting for trophies. Thus, the “Reds” reached the final of the Champions League, where, however, they lost to “Real Madrid” with a score of 3:1.

In the tables of the English premier league, the team was only in 4th position. However, there was noticeable progress in its game. And Firmino’s role in this was huge. He made a terrific attacking trio with Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah. They worked well together, so it was no surprise to see “Liverpool” triumph in the Champions League a season later and win the EPL a year later.

What helped the Brazilian have a great season?

  2. Trust of the coaching staff. Firmino felt he was counted on. That gave him confidence and allowed him to play his best .
  3. He was able to open up perfectly and choose the right position. Thanks to this, the player often found himself in a better position than opposing defenders.

Roberto was really good in the 2017/2018 campaign. Yes, his performance declined later on. However, this does not mean that the player has become less important to the team. No, just his role on the field has changed somewhat.
