DARYL Dike, the new West Bromwich Albion striker, didn’t score his first professional goal until August 2020.

Expected goals are a means of measuring the quality of a chance, on a scale of 0-1. The more difficult the chance, the lower the xG. A 25-yard shot on a player’s weaker foot, for example, might have an xG of 0.1. A penalty is 0.76.
