Speculation intensifies over Charlton boss Karl Robinson’s future

The Addicks boss has reportedly offered to resign as manager of the South London club.

Charlton Athletic boss Karl Robinson’s future at Charlton Athletic looks increasingly uncertain with the South London Press reporting that the Addicks’ manager has offered to step down.

The South London club are understood to be in the final stages of a protracted takeover with Director Richard Murray declaring that a fee had been agreed with owner Roland Duchatelet and two separate parties.

Robinson took over at Charlton in November 2016 following the sacking of Russell Slade and had been credited with bringing much needed stability to the Valley. However, following the sale of midfielder Ricky Holmes in January the Addicks have witnessed a downturn in form and Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Fleetwood was Charlton’s fourth league game without a win.

Robinson has been heavily linked with the vacant managerial post at Oxford United in recent days, with the U’s Chairman Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth promising to appoint a new manager with the “wow factor”.
