Although Rochdale have found goals hard to come by this season (scoring just 34 times, making them the division’s second lowest goal scorers), they have proved a resolute defensive outfit, keeping 14 clean sheets so far this campaign.

The visitors also come into tonight’s game on a decent run of form, with the Cod Army yet to lose since John Sheridan took over as manager at the end of last month. This recent run of form has included credible draws against play off contenders and .

Saturday’s point at The Valley enabled Fleetwood to leapfrog Town and escape the League One drop zone.

In contrast to Rochdale however, Fleetwood have struggled defensively this season, having conceded 57 goals this season, 15 more than their hosts this evening.
