Swindon sign ‘keeper Charles-Cook from Coventry

Young shot-stopper joins the Reds on two-year deal from divisional rivals Coventry City.

have extended their goalkeeping options today with the signing of Reice Charles- from fellow side .

The 23-year-old shot-stopper arrives on a two-year deal and will provide competition for Reds goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux. He will the number 21 shirt at the County Ground.

Charles-Cook came through the youth system at and had a loan spell at Chelmsford City in 2013. Later that ear he joined after he was released by the Gunners. A year later he moved to the Sky and went on to make over 50 first team appearances for the club.

He also set a post-war record for for the most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal, ad he became the first City ‘keeper to keep a clean sheet in their first four games.

He told the club’s official website about his excitement at the move: “I’m absolutely buzzing to have signed here.

“I’m over the moon and is a massive club. It shouldn’t be in League Two and it is a massive achievement on my behalf to sign for this club.

“My first day training with the boys was excellent and I’m looking forward to the season ahead and helping us achieve promotion.”
